3 weeks already over!

The past 2 weeks, we've been in the lab and class working on our group presentations. I must say I am not very excited about this project lol. I need to start working on it. I'm doing a bibliography on Holland Norman from Reader's Response. Last Wednesday we talked about scholarships. By the time it was my turn, all the scholarships I have researched were on the board. I have finally finished my first ISU book called For Those Who Hunt the Wounded Down. It was very weird at the beginning. I had no clue where this book was going. The story was odd, but in the end I think I know what it's all about. I tried to read as much as I could so I can start thinking about my thesis and outline. And get started on my next ISU book since it is longer. So far the class is like it was in grade 11. Well I wonder what other projects will come our way before christmas time!

First week of school is over!

First week of school is over and we are already starting on projects. I have already chosen both my ISU books. All the Pretty Horses by Cormac McCarthy for my long ISU and for my short Isu I chose, For Those Who Hunt the Wounded Down by David Adams Richards. I got the book by David Adams Richard in the library finally today since the librarian was finally there. We already started on a group project. Freddie, Yanick, Julian and me are the only grade 11s in this class and we are one group. The presentation we will do is on Reader's Response. I hope this semester will be similar to last semester. I'm excited to get English over this year so I won't have to deal with it in grade 12 so I'll have an easy year. Well I can't wait to see how all this will turn out.

Accountability Agreement

Accountability Agreement Template

Focus

My focus for English class, ENG 4UE, is to accomplish the following:

· I want to be able to write better essays in a shorter time period.
· I want to pass this class with at least an 85% or higher.
· I want to write a two great ISU essays.
· I’d like to pass the APA test with at least a level 4.

Contributions

The contributions that I will make to this class this semester are:

· I will contribute to this class by not interrupting a lecture and asking questions if I do not understand something.
· I will contribute to this class by writing a weekly blog.
· I will contribute by sharing my opinion with the class if I have one regarding a certain subject.
· I will contribute to all my group projects. I will not let just one person do all the work. I will contribute to the group equally.

Accountabilities

The behaviours that I will be held responsible for are the following:

· I will be held responsible for attending my classes on time, to not disturb my classmates.
· I will be held responsible for staying on task in class and not to have a negative attitude.
· I will be held responsible for completing my homework.
· I will be held responsible for doing my best in all my classes.

Supports

I will need some help from some people in order to achieve my accountabilities and goals. Theses people are:

· My parents are one of my supports because they push me to do my best and they need to make me spend less time on the computer and more time working efficiently.
· I will need the support of Mr. Murray to be clear on what he wants and expects from the class on our assignments, especially for ISU, what will be on the exam and APA exam.
· I will need the support of Freddie, Yanick, and Julian to tell me what I missed in class while I was absent and if I am falling behind, I will need their help to tell me what I need to finish.

Measurements

Success is very important to me.

· I will know what success looks like when I get my report card and it shows that I passed the class with an 85% or higher.
· I will know what success looks like when I can write better essays in less time.
· I will know what success looks like when I have learned a lot from the class.
· I will know what success looks like when I have passed the APA test with at least level 4.

Consequences

When I succeed in a goal I should be rewarded and when I fail I should be punished by:

· I should be punished with detention or travel time if I mouth off and talk back to the teacher.
· I should be rewarded by my parents with something I want when I succeed at one of my goals like passing the class with an 85% or higher.
